Issue/Introduction

This article provides information regarding the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) support roadmap for Nolio Release Automation (CARA) and the expected release strategy for versions 6.9.x and 6.10.

Environment

Nolio Release Automation (CARA) 6.8, 6.9
Java 8 (JRE 1.8)

Resolution

Nolio Release Automation 6.8 and 6.9 currently bundle and support JRE 1.8. Engineering includes minor JDK 8 updates in Cumulative Updates (e.g., versions 6.8.6, 6.9.4 and higher).

Regarding the release of version 6.10:

• The release strategy has been adjusted to focus on rolling out 6.9.x minor versions for an extended period.
• Version 6.10 is not scheduled for release in 2026.
• Future versions (6.10 and above) are targeted to include higher Java versions (such as Java 11 or 19). However, this is currently in the backlog without a specific ETA to ensure backward compatibility with existing Nolio agents.
