Issue/Introduction

During the upgrade readiness phase of an NSX Manager upgrade, the following issue occurs:

  • The option to upload the Pre-Check Upgrade Bundle (PUB) file is grayed out or disabled.
  • As a result, it is not possible to initiate or proceed with the upgrade pre-checks.

Environment

VMware NSX 4.x

Cause

  • Invalid NSX upgrade bundle file due to unsupported filename format
  • Prior NSX 4.x when the user upload the MUB file to perform pre checks, the following error would be observed "File name does not conform to the expected format" 

Resolution

This is an user error. To resolve this issue, remove any extra or special characters from the filename and reupload the file.

Additional Information

File name does not conform to the expected format. Please remove extra characters such as brackets and try again error observed when uploading pub file to NSX Manager.
