Issue/Introduction

This article outlines scenarios where sections of the Lifecycle page (located under the Build tab) in VCF Operations 9.1 fail to load due to stale browser cache following an SDDC Manager or VCF Operations upgrade. Some of the symptoms encountered are listed below:

  • SDDC Manager details may fail to show up in Build > Lifecycle > VCF Instances > Management Domain as shown below:

  • Post upgrade of SDDC Manager to 9.1 ,attempting to upgrade the remaining components using Build > Lifecycle > VCF Instances > Management Domain > Upgrades tab may result in encountering a continuous loop as shown below:

  • Additionally the VCF Management and VCF instances sections may fail to load

Environment

  • VMware Cloud Foundation 9.1
  • VCF Operations 9.1

Cause

This is encountered when stale cached data in web browser prevents the updated UI components from loading correctly.

Resolution

This issue is resolved in VCF Operations 9.1 EP2 (VCF Operations 9.1.0.200).

Workaround:

To successfully load the page and continue the upgrades, use the following workaround:

  1. Open a new Incognito or Private window in your web browser.
  2. Log in to the VCF Operations UI.
  3. Navigate to Build > Lifecycle.
Note: To permanently resolve the issue for standard browser sessions, clear your web browser's cache and cookies, then reload the page.

In case this issue is encountered on a build newer than VCF Operations 9.1.0.200 and clearing the Browser Cache does not resolve the issue, collect the below diagnostic data and Contact Broadcom support :

  1. VCF Operations Log bundle
  2. Cloud Proxy Log bundle
  3. HAR file capture from affected browser session
