Broadcom ISV SCRT Report issue using Zowe CLI

Issue/Introduction

Downloading the SCRT dataset using Zowe CLI with this command:

zowe files dl ds "xxx.xxx.xxx" -f "C:\Users\xxx\Downloads\2026-04.txt"

 

results in the SCRT file is rejected on the Broadcom ISV SCRT Report Management platform with the following error:

"IBM validation failed. See the Frequently Asked Questions in the online help. Click here to check common report errors."

Common Components and Services for z/OS 15.0

Cause

It is caused usually by with encoding issue. The symptom is a mistranslated character in the report, and most of the time it is seen where the '@' character should be in the email address field.
