Issue/Introduction

In VCF Operations 9.0.2.0 environments utilizing cost calculation features, custom edits made to the Server hardware cost drivers for Traditional and Hyperconverged infrastructure do not persist. After two runs of the cost calculation engine, the customized cost driver values automatically revert to the default reference costs.

This issue specifically occurs in environments where the same datacenter contains a mix of both Traditional and HCI servers.

Environment

VCF Operations 9.0.2.0

Cause

This issue is caused by a backend deletion logic mechanism designed to remove unnecessary groups. When the group hash associated with the datacenter is not in line with the inventory, particularly in a mixed environment containing both Traditional and HCI servers, the deletion logic is triggered incorrectly, discarding the user's custom edits and reverting the hardware cost drivers back to the base reference costs.
