Symantec Endpoint Detection and Response (SEDR) S550 Hardware End-of-Life (EOL) Announcement

Resolution

As part of Broadcom’s commitment to better serve our customers by streamlining our on-premises EDR offerings, we are announcing the End-of-Life (EOL) for Symantec Endpoint Detection and Response (SEDR) hardware appliances.

The Symantec EDR 4.12 virtual appliance will serve as the replacement, providing equivalent or enhanced functionality to support your EDR needs. SEDR 4.12 is now available and was released in Q4 of CY2025.

The effective dates are as follows:

April 1, 2026	The Symantec EDR hardware appliance EOL date.  New sales for the hardware appliance will be turned off
April 1, 2027	Last date for Renewals of Symantec EDR hardware appliance
April 1, 2028*	Drop Support Date for Symantec EDR hardware appliance

*If the contract period exceeds the dates mentioned, Broadcom is obligated to support SEDR to the contract end date per the standard End of Life Policy.
