Unable to delete VM in "Failed creation" state

Issue/Introduction

• Trying to delete the VM fails with the error:
  

  [ ########-####-####-########f5f6 ] Managed VApp is supposed to have exactly 1 VM (not 2)!

• The VM is in "Failed creation" state.
• The vApp the VM was part of has been already deleted.

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.6.x

Cause

This issue occurs when the VM is in partially created state.

Resolution

Database modification is needed to resolve this issue. Please Contact Broadcom Support and note this Article ID (433248) in the problem description.
