Issue/Introduction

In the VMware Cloud Director (VCD) Provider Portal, when navigating to [Resources] > [External Networks] > [Target Network] > [IP Usage], the following UI display issues occur:

  1. Duplicate IP Usage Display.
When the same IP address is assigned to multiple different virtual machines (VMs), the VM and vApp columns fail to display their respective unique names. Instead, a specific VM/vApp name is incorrectly duplicated across all rows sharing that IP address.
  2. Entry Multiplication Upon Sorting:
While the above issue is present, clicking the IP Address column header to sort the list causes the number of displayed duplicate entries to incorrectly multiply. (Note: This specific behavior occurs when the list contains other unique IP addresses alongside the duplicated ones).

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.6.x

Cause

This issue is caused by a UI display logic defect in the VCD Provider Portal. While the backend data is accurate, the UI fails to correctly map the unique VM and vApp names when processing overlapping IP addresses.

Resolution

This is a known UI defect in VCD.
Broadcom engineering is currently developing a fix to address this issue in a future release.

Until a fix is applied, if duplicate IP addresses are registered within the same Direct Network before, the IP address usage status needs to be checked from the Tenant Portal.
