Issue/Introduction

VCF Business Console shows status of Split License 'License Name' as expired. Attempt made to remove or delete the license fails prompts to remove license from VCF Operations. When remove button is clicked, UI throws an error that reads 'Allocation_Quantity_Error'. Failed to dissociate license manager as consumed quantity is greater than 0 for allocation id.

Environment

VCF 9.x

Resolution

There is a need to validate the license usage from the backend team. Hence, request to raise a Support Case with Broadcom and provide screenshot of the error message as shown above, with a mention of License name. Also, sharing Browser Trace (HAR) file for further review.

Follow below mentioned steps to collect the required information.

  1. Access VCF Business Services console at vcf.broadcom.com.
  2. Expand License Management and click on Licenses
  3. Select the license that shows status as 'Expired'
  4. Trace browser information by following the steps mentioned in Capture a Har file documentation page
  5. Click on three ellipses besides License name that has status as 'Expired'.
  6. Click on Remove
  7. A pop-window requires confirmation that the selected license needs to be removed from VCF Operations. The pop-up window looks similar to below image.
  8. Once we click 'REMOVE', we encounter an error message that reads 'Allocation_Quantity_Error'. Failed to dissociate license manager as consumed quantity is greater than 0 for allocation id.
  9. Capture the screenshot of the error and Har file from the browser.
  10. Upload the gathered information to Broadcom Support Case by following the instructions mentioned Uploading files to cases on the Broadcom Support Portal
