What folders and file locations does Ghost Solution Suite (GSS) use? This information may be needed when planning for antivirus exclusions before or after an install/upgrade.

Resolution

The following default files and folders are used for installing and using Ghost Solution Suite. These default locations can be customized so Antivirus exclusions (if needed) will need to be adjusted accordingly:

• GSS_Install_Upgrade.exe - Installation or update executable
• C:\DSSetup - Default location where .exe extracts installation files
• C:\Windows\Temp - Temporary staging folder
• C:\Program Files x86\Altiris - Default installation location for GSS and PXE server
• C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Kits\10 - Default WinPE installation location
• C:\Users\Temp - Temporary staging for WIM extraction
• BDCgpl_x64_#.#.#####.frm2 - Linux PE environment for x64 (imported to C:\Program Files x86\Altiris during configuration)
• BDCgpl_x86_#.#.#####.frm2 - Linux PE environment for x86 (imported to C:\Program Files x86\Altiris during configuration)
