Issue/Introduction

Patch 10.9.1-299 for Messaging Gateway is available for download and installation.

This patch addresses the following issues:

  • Backup Now button no longer works on subsequent attempts after error.
  • Backup over FTP and SCP from the Control Center does not work in case when '@' is used in username.
  • "license-control -l"  CLI command results in "ERROR: Certificate file is not valid"
  •  Adding a scheduled backup with SCPRSA protocol fails.

Environment

Version: 10.9.2

Resolution

The patch may be installed from the command line as follows:

  1. Log into the SMG command line as admin
  2. Run
    patch -p 10.9.2-299 install

Installing the patch using a local web server using the localinstall option

  1. Place the patch ISO on a Web server that is reachable from the Symantec Messaging Gateway server(s).
  2. Log in to the CLI (either through the console, or via SSH) as 'admin'.
  3. Install the patch using the following command string:

     patch localinstall http://hostname/path/to/sms-appliance-patch-10.9.2-299.iso

  4. Repeat the above steps for each Control Centre and each standalone Quarantine server in the deployment.
