Finding Your Entitlements on the Broadcom Support Portal

Issue/Introduction

  • After you purchase Advanced Cyber Compliance (ACC) or VMware Live Recovery Cloud, you can log in to the support portal to find your software entitlements.
  • Your purchase grants 'entitlements' that allow you to access and download the software. All entitlements are located on the Broadcom Support Portal under 'My Entitlements'.
  • With Advanced Cyber Compliance, your entitlements are associated with your subscription purchases, identified as a per-VM subscription.
  • With VMware Live Recovery Cloud, your entitlements are associated with your subscription purchases, identified as either a per-VM subscription or a protected capacity subscription.
  • On the Broadcom Support Portal, per-VM subscriptions have download links for the software. Protected capacity subscriptions, however, do not have download links because no software is required for protected capacity.

Resolution

Deciding on using Advanced Cyber Compliance or VMware Live Recovery Cloud depends on which component you are using:

  • For VMware Live Site Recovery (Advanced Cyber Compliance), you need only a VM subscription to use the software. VMware Live Site Recovery can operate in either connected or offline mode. For more details, see How do I set up Site Recovery Manager to work in offline mode?
  • For VMware Cloud Director Availability (part of the Advanced Cyber Compliance subscription), you only need license keys to use the software.
  • For VMware Live Cyber Recovery (VMware Live Recovery Cloud), you need both a VM and a protected capacity subscription to use the software.

 

  • To find your software entitlements on the Broadcom Support Portal:
    1. Log in to the Broadcom Support Portal with your registered user credentials.
    2. From the left navigation, select My Entitlements.
    3. Search for your entitlements by entering your serial number, site ID, customer name, contract number, or customer number and click Search:

       

    4. In the search results, select VMware Live Recovery to expand the list.

    • In this example, notice that three of the entitlements have download icons next to them, while the last one in the list does not.
    • The three entitlements with download  icons are protected VM subscriptions, while the last one is a protected capacity subscription, which requires no software to download:

            5. Click the Contract Details icon for one of the entitlements with a download icon next to it. The contract details window shows all the details of the entitlement and                      shows the purchase as a per-VM subscription:

           6. Click the Contract Details icon for an entitlement without a download icon. The contract details show that this entitlement is a protected capacity subscription, which                   requires no software download:
