Issue/Introduction

Several IP addresses within the Infoblox network range are incorrectly appearing in VMware Aria Automation. While these IPs are marked as "Allocated" in the system, they are simultaneously flagged with a "Missing Resource" status, indicating a discrepancy between the IPAM provider and the managed resources in Aria Automation.

Environment

  • VMware Aria Automation (formerly vRealize Automation)
  • Infoblox IPAM Integration

Cause

This behaviour is typically caused by environmental factors or synchronization issues, such as:

  • Manual IP allocations performed in Infoblox prior to Aria Automation involvement.

  • Virtual machine NIC reconfigurations performed directly in vCenter, bypassing Aria Automation.

  • Duplicate IP allocations within the same network range.

Resolution

If VM's are using the same IP's existing in this environment then a manual clean up is necessary.
