Issue/Introduction

  • The SDDC Manager UI displays "There are no bundles to display" under the Lifecycle Management > Bundle Management section.
  • The /var/log/vmware/vcf/lcm/lcm-debug.log file contains the following error and debug messages:

ERROR [c.v.e.s.l.d.c.b.BundleClientImpl] Failed to find bundle manifest json for bundleId [ID]
DEBUG [c.v.e.s.l.c.s.BundleManifestDownloadScheduler] Manifest polling is not enabled

Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation 5.2.x

Cause

This issue occurs when the Lifecycle Management (LCM) service cannot retrieve the manifest list required to display available updates.

Resolution

To resolve the issue, follow below mentioned steps.

  1. Take SSH session to SDDC manager and login as 'vcf' user
  2. Switch to root user using 'su' command
  3. Take a backup of 'application-prod.properties' file

    cp /opt/vmware/vcf/lcm/lcm-app/conf/application.properties /opt/vmware/vcf/lcm/lcm-app/conf/application.properties.bkp

  4. Edit the file

    vi  /opt/vmware/vcf/lcm/lcm-app/conf/application.properties

    Change 'application.properties:lcm.core.enableManifestPolling' value to true.
  5. Save the changes by performing the following:

    Esc+wq!
  6. Restart the lcm service

    systemctl restart lcm
