Users may notice gaps or missing sections in the VCF Operations for Networks TCP Retransmission Ratio graphs.
This article explains why this behavior occurs and confirms whether it indicates a problem with data collection or network visibility.
VCF Operations for Networks
The TCP Retransmission Ratio graph only displays data when TCP retransmissions occur. If there are no retransmissions between the source and destination during a given time period, no data is generated, resulting in blank or missing sections in the graph.
The TCP Retransmission Ratio graph displays data only when TCP retransmissions are detected between the source and destination.
If no TCP retransmissions occur during a specific time interval, there is no retransmission data to plot. As a result, the graph will appear blank or show gaps for those periods. This does not indicate a data collection issue or product malfunction; rather, it reflects healthy network behavior with no packet retransmissions.
No action is required to resolve this behavior. If retransmissions occur in the future, the graph will automatically populate with the relevant data.
