Issue/Introduction

After performing a cross vCenter vMotion, you may observe that some Virtual Machines are missing properties for disks or network adapters in Aria Automation. While the migration and disk reconciliation may report as successful, the specific resource properties are not populated correctly.

Environment

  • Product: VMware Aria Automation 8.18.1 (formerly vRealize Automation)

  • Feature: Cross vCenter vMotion / Resource Reconciliation

Cause

This issue occurs because invalid references in the compute_state database records block the update of the resource. These invalid links prevent the system from successfully refreshing the disk or network sections of the VM metadata following the migration.

Resolution

If you experience this issue then please contact Broadcom Support and reference Knowledge Base article 422745.
