Failed to get report error observed on Edge Transport Node Monitor tab within NSX GUI

Issue/Introduction

• When navigating to the Edge monitor page within the NSX GUI (via System > Fabric > Nodes > Monitor) the graph fails to load and the error "Failed to get report - An unknown error has occurred" is observed.

• SSP may have recently been upgraded to 5.1.
• NSX manager syslog may contain log showing values similar to the below:

Cause

This issue occurs due to a change in the way SSP handles the required data calls from NSX in version SSP 5.1 (and above).

Resolution

This feature is being deprecated and removed from NSX 9.0 and all future NSX 4.2.X releases. Therefore the current status is as below:

• Edge metrics are currently working as expected on NSX 3.x/4.x only if using NAPP or an SSP version below 5.1.
• However, if you upgrade SSP to 5.1+ on those same NSX versions, the graphs fail with the above error.
• Finally, on future NSX releases and 9.x, Edge metrics are not present at all.
