Issue/Introduction

This is an informational KB for existing NAPP customers who would like to migrate the current platform to SSP.

Resolution

The Security Services Platform (SSP) is a high-performance, scalable solution designed to run vDefend security services. It represents an evolution of the existing NSX Application Platform (NAPP), offering a faster and simpler deployment model.

It is strongly recommended to deploy the Security Services Platform for enhanced vDefend Firewall capabilities, such as Security Intelligence and vDefend Firewall with ATP features, which include Network Detection and Response, Malware Prevention, and Network Threat Analysis.

The Security Services Platform is included with vDefend Firewall and vDefend Firewall with ATP licenses.

Existing NSX Application Platform (NAPP) customers are encouraged to transition to the Security Services Platform. However, please note that migration capabilities are currently not available directly.

In cases where a redeployment of NAPP is required, it is advisable to onboard SSP instead.

If your NAPP environment is healthy and functioning without any issues, you may choose to wait for the future release, as migration support is planned for inclusion in the next version(no ETA as of now).
