Issue/Introduction

 Followed the instructions in Upgrade gateway from 110 to 111

 to upgrade API Gateway appliance from version 11.0 to version 11.1.2. However, after the upgrade, the list of on-premise NTP servers are removed.
 They must add the list on on-premise NTP servers back.

Environment

CA API Gateway 11.1.1 , 11.1.2

Cause

Known issue which will be fixed in Gateway 11.1.4 or higher (11.2)

- in Gateway version 11.1.x, there is/etc/systemd/timesyncd.conf   , but on Gateway 11.2 version the ntp server info was moved to  /etc/chrony/chrony.conf. The new release will fix the known issue.

Resolution

1. Gateway 11.1.x has TimeSyncD , so you will continue to see the file /etc/systemd/timesyncd.conf with multiple lines of time server details (after the upgrade), which is a known issue that will be resolved in 11.1.4 or higher.

2. However, It is safe for customers to re-configure Time Zone Servers using SSG Config Menu on 11.1.1 , just need to ensure the multiple NTP servers be in a single line starting like the example below :

NTP = time01 time02 time03 etc

Additional Information

CA API Gateway 11.2 use /etc/chrony/chrony.conf and it has removed TimeSyncD due migrated to Chrony
