NSX Installation Failed Error: Deployment cannot be started on Transport node profile is not successfully configured on the cluster: NSXT- internal-resource #### (Error code: 42384)

Issue/Introduction

When attempting a service deployment in VMware NSX, the process fails during host preparation. The NSX Manager UI displays an installation failure for the clusters.

• The Node Status shows Preparation failed.
• You see the following error in the NSX UI: Error: Deployment cannot be started on Transport node profile is not successfully configured on the cluster: NSXT- internal-resource #### (Error code: 42384)
• The Transport Node Status may show as green or UP, yet the installation state remains Failed.
  

Environment

NSX 4.x

Cause

This issue occurs when the NSX configuration on the transport node profile is not fully synchronized or requires manual remediation following an environment change or upgrade.

Resolution

To resolve the installation failure, use the Resolve action in the NSX Manager UI. This process is generally non-disruptive to existing network traffic, but it is recommended to perform this during a maintenance window.

1. Log in to the NSX Manager UI.
2. Navigate to System > Fabric > Nodes > Host Transport Nodes.
3. Click on the Install Failed error link for the affected cluster.
4. Select the checkbox in the top-left corner of the error pop-up window to select the error.
5. Click the Resolve button in the bottom-right corner of the window.
   Note: If the Resolve button is not visible, zoom out in your web browser (Ctrl + minus) to reveal the button at the bottom of the screen.
6. Wait a few minutes for the preparation to complete. The status should transition to Success (Green).
