Issue/Introduction

  • Reverse failover tasks are failing for all replications. 
  • The following error is seen from the provider portal:
    Unable to connect to vCenter ########-####-####-####-############
  • This is an on-prem to cloud setup. Reverse is being carried out from cloud site to On-prem site.
  • System health on source and destination sites are healthy.
  • Connecting to each endpoints(manager,replicator,tunnel) for the cloud site showed the following error at the top of the Settings page: 
    Certificate differs from the expected one.
  • There is also a warning next to the Lookupservice in the same Settings page for each component:
    Unable to create Lookup Service gateway

VMware Cloud Director Availability 4.7.3

Resolution

To resolve, apply the resolution from the following:

  1. Error: "Unable to create Lookup Service gateway" while creating new replication
  2. Carry out the reverse replication operation : Reverse a Replication
  3. Following a successful reverse, carry out a failover or migrate to finish the failover process to the actual source site.
