Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• Host remediation fails with below errors during the VR appliance installation:

A general system error occurred: Health Check for 'Cluster#' failed

• Issue is observed on vSAN cluster.
• HBR-agent vib fails to install automatically on Hosts with below error on Site Recovery UI page:

domain-#####The Host Based Replication Agent for ESX can't be installed on 'domain-#####'. The vLCM image has deltas that need to be applied.

vSAN (All Versions)

Cause

KMS warnings on vSAN cluster blocked the auto remediation leading to auto HBR-agent installation failures.

 

vSAN cluster health check failing with error 'VMware vCenter and all hosts are connected to Key Management Servers".

 

 

Problematic KMS server may show in not connected state leading to HBR installation failures.

Resolution

As a workaround silence the vSAN KMS health warning and remediate the hosts. Silencing the vSAN alarm will allow the auto HBR-agent installation complete successfully.
