NSX Upgrade failed on Product Version Update: "[MPP] Error while updating Manager Fabric Module"

Issue/Introduction

• During the NSX Manager update at step 7 (Product Version Update), it failed with the error:
  [MPP] Error while updating Manager Fabric Module.

• From the NSX Manager log /var/log/upgrade-coordinator/upgrade-coordinator.log, the following error is observed:

Cause

The fabric modules contents are corrupted, potentially due to an intervention in the form of an API call (/api/v1/fabric/modules) or DB/corfu write.
