Issue/Introduction

  • The UI is inaccessible because the pods are restarting as soon as the start
  • vco-app pods are continually restarting. 

Environment

Aria Automation Orchestrator 8.x

Cause

A workflow failed and is stuck in a retry loop. 

This causes the pods to crash and restart, but when the pod restarts, it attempts to run the failed attempts again.

Resolution

  1. Cancel all workflow runs and tasks to prevent them from being restarted again
         vracli vro cancel executions
         vracli vro cancel tasks

  2. After the Workflow has been canceled, you may need to restart the vco-app pod:
         kubectl -n prelude delete pods -lapp=vco-app

  3. Wait for orchestrator to start
          kubectl -n prelude get pods -w

Note: The workflow can also be edited and the "Resume workflow from failed behavior" setting in the Summary tab can be set to disabled:
