After a successful upgrade from 8.7.0 to 8.8 to 9.0.2 the SRM administrator is no longer receiving the RPO e-mails. through their vCenter SMTP .
Other notification from vCenter, including the daily Lifecycle (Update Manager) patch task send e-mails.

IF com.vmware.vcHms.rpoViolatedEvent
THEN trigger the alarm as warning and send emails
OR IF com.vmware.vcHms.rpoRestoredEvent
THEN trigger the alarm as normal and send emails
This is caused by a case change of the alarm events
com.vmware.vcHms.rpoViolatedEvent is now com.vmware.vcHms.RpoViolatedEvent
and com.vmware.vcHms.rpoRestoredEvent is now com.vmware.vcHms.RpoRestoredEvent
There may be other name changes for VLR events where the case of some of the letters has changed
Rebuild the event and select the new names with the new case changes to replace the old alarm event definition
