Issue/Introduction

  • When trying to renew the certificate through LCM it fails with the error LCMCOMMON80066

Environment

  • VMware Aria Operations for Logs 8.18.x
  • VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle 8.18.x

Cause

Root partition was full on all nodes.

Resolution

  1. Take snapshot for all nodes in the cluster as per KB How to take a Snapshot of VMware Aria Operations for Logs 
  2. Apply steps in KB Large File Sizes of /var/log/messages and /var/mail/root Causing Root Partition to Fill Up in Aria Operations for Logs 
  3. Apply the steps in the following KB to generate a self signed certificate for VMware Aria Operations for Logs Install a custom certificate in VMware Aria Operations for Logs 8.12 and Later 
  4. Sign into VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle UI
  5. Generate a new certificate for VMware Aria Operations for Logs nodes in the locker in VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle .  You can use the following documentation as a guide Manage certificates for VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle products 
  6. Replace the certificate with the newly generated certificate which was completed in step 5.  You can use the following documentation as a guide Replace certificate for VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle products

Note: It is not possible to renew an expired certificate through VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle for any VMware Aria Suite products, this is documented in KB Expired certificate on VMware Aria Suite products can't be replaced using VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle
