How to take a Snapshot of VMware Aria Operations for Logs

Issue/Introduction

This article provides steps to take a snapshot of VMware Aria Operations for Logs from vSphere.

Environment

Aria Operations for Logs 8.x

Resolution

1. Login to the vCenter UI
2. Locate the VMware Aria Operations for Logs Primary node.
3. Right-Click on the  Primary node and select Snapshot > Take Snapshot.
   
   
   
   
4. Enter a Name and Description for the snapshot.
5. Uncheck Snapshot the virtual machine's memory check box.
6. Uncheck Quiesce guest file system (Needs VMware Tools installed) check box.
7. Click Create.
   
   
   
   
8. Repeat steps 2-7 on all remaining nodes of the VMware Aria Operations for Logs cluster

 

Note:

Remove all snapshots as soon as they are no longer needed.
