Issue/Introduction

VMware Live Site Recovery site pairing fails.

Observation:
Although the reconfiguration of VMware Live Site Recovery completes successfully without any errors, the site pairing process does not succeed.

Reason: https://vcenterfqdn:443/drserver/vcdr/vmomi/sdk invocation failed with "java.net.SocketTimeoutException: 30,000 milliseconds timeout on connection http-outgoing-145 [ACTIVE]"

Environment

VMware Live Recovery9.X

Cause

An invalid DNS IP entry caused the site pairing to fail, as incorrect DNS resolution increased lookup time and eventually led to a timeout.

Resolution

Please remove the invalid DNS IP from Networking section of the VMware Live Recovery VAMI.

And validate /etc/hosts or /etc/resolv.conf contain correct DNS entries.
