Issue/Introduction

  • Enhanced Data Path has been configured within the NSX Edge Node.
  • High latency is seen on traffic passing through edge nodes
  • Edge Node may see high number of packet drops
  • High number of retransmissions seen during packet captures.

Environment

VMware NSX-T Data Center 3.x

VMware vSphere 7.x

Cause

Host pNIC RSS is not supported with this specific VMware vSphere ESX and NSX-T Data Center combination

Resolution

This issue is resolved in VMware NSX 4.2.3 and VMware vSphere 8.0U3, available at Broadcom downloads.

If you are having difficulty finding and downloading software, please review the Download Broadcom products and software KB.

Workaround:

It is not recommended to configure Enhanced Data Path with this ESX and NSX-T version combination when deploying an Edge VM. Standard host switch mode should be used instead.
