vSAN Hardware Compatibility alarm 'vSAN HCL DB auto Update' Error / Unable to get latest HCL DB version Online Error

Issue/Introduction

The following Symptoms apply:

 

• vCenter Internet connectivity has been verified
• Manual json file upload fails with the error : "Failed to replace old HCL DB with new one"
• You observe in the vSAN Healthcheck the Warning: vSAN Hardware Compatibility: "vSAN HCL DB Auto Update"

• When trying to update it, you observe the following Error "Unable to get the latest HCL database version online"

Environment

vSAN (All Versions)

Cause

An error in the json file resulted in the vCenter vSAN Health service being unable to ingest the file and update the database.

Resolution

The issue has been resolved by vSAN Engineering. The updated file has been released and the error will clear on its own.
