NSX Cluster Preparation Fails with Health Check Error on vLCM Enabled Cluster

Issue/Introduction
- Attempting to remediate or patch a cluster in LCM results in the error:
A general system error occurred: Health Check for Cluster '####' failed. - Hosts in the vCenter cluster are reported as "Out of Compliance"
- In NSX Manager, the Compute Manager registration status may appear as "Pending" or "Registered with Errors"
- All the hosts in the Cluster reporti as Out of Compliance in the vCenter LCM
- In NSX Manager, the cluster status shows "Failed to prepare" or "Preparation failed" with following error message:
26198: Error occurred during operation on cluster:###################:domain-## Error: NSX cannot be enabled on vLCM enabled cluster as required configurations are not created on compute manager. Please perform edit action on Compute Manager ######################## to enable trust and create service account. The cluster ####### is not in sync. Click 'Resolve' to initiate sync between the NSX manager and vLCM on vCenter.
Environment
- VMware NSX
- VMware vCenter Server
Cause
This issue occurs if trying to prepare a NSX enabled Cluster for vLCM and the registered Compute Manager is not registered with the required settings for vLCM or if the Registration is in failed or pending state for any reason.
Resolution
To resolve the issue, edit the Compute Manager on NSX and make sure enable trust and create service account options are enabled as per Prepare an NSX Cluster with vSphere Lifecycle Manager.
- Log in to the NSX Manager UI.
- Navigate to System > Fabric > Compute Managers.
- Select the target vCenter Server and click Edit.
- Ensure the following options are enabled:
- Enable Trust
- Create Service Account
- Note: If these are already enabled but the status is "Pending," toggle them off, save, and then toggle them back on to refresh the trust configuration.
- Click Save and wait for the Registration Status to show as Registered.
- Navigate to System > Fabric > Nodes > Host Transport Nodes.
- Select the affected cluster and click Resolve to initiate the sync between NSX Manager and vLCM.
- Return to the vSphere Lifecycle Manager (vLCM) and re-run the remediation/compliance check.
Note: Disabling vLCM on the vSphere cluster is not a supported operation in vCenter.
