The SNMP agent on NSX Manager has crashed

Issue/Introduction

• In the NSX_UI  an generated alarm "Application on NSX node ##########  has crashed. The number of core files found is 1. Collect the Support Bundle including core dump files and contact VMware Support team."
• Core dump for the agent is seen:
  /image/core/core.snmpd.*.gz - on NSX-T manager
• In the kern logs (/var/log/kern.log)  following errors can be seen:
  2025-07-21T10:17:06.242Z kernel - - - [37295179.596173] grsec: Segmentation fault occurred at 0000000000000008 in /opt/vmware/bin/snmpd[snmpd:75513] uid/euid:0/0 gid/egid:0

Cause

SNMP agent crashed due to null pointer issue

Resolution

This issue is resolved in VMware NSX 4.2.2 , available at Broadcom downloads.
