Issue/Introduction

Symptom:

  • In the SRM DR page UI,errors are observed for multiple hosts indicating that the vSphere Replication Management Server is unable to establish a connection to the host on port 443.

"vSphere Replication Management Server could not establish connection to vSphere Replication Server at  '##.##.##.##:443"

  • In the Site Recovery DR page UI > Issues tab, above error will be displayed for multiple hosts:

  • The replication status of the virtual machines (VMs) residing on these ESXi hosts is healthy and reported as OK.

  • Connectivity between vCenter Server and the affected ESXi hosts is verified and functioning normally.

  • There is no connectivity issue between the vSphere replication appliance and the ESXi host.

  • The hosts reporting error in the SRM UI are not in maintenance mode.

Environment

VMware vSphere Replication

Cause

  • This issue will occur when one or more hosts in vCenter become disconnected or unresponsive. Even after the host reconnects and returns to a healthy state, the corresponding error entries may persist in the vSphere Replication Management Server (VRMS) database. These stale entries are not automatically cleared, resulting in connection errors displayed in the SRM UI.

Resolution

  • If the symptoms and issue described above match your scenario please contact Broadcom Support to remove stale entries from database safely.
