Cannot apply vSAN license to vSAN cluster due to incompatible version

Issue/Introduction

Unable to apply vSAN 7 license to vSAN cluster with error:

"The created license with serial key "#####-#####-#####-#####-#####" cannot be assigened to the chosen asset

Environment

vCenter - 8.0.X

ESXi - 7.0.x

Cause

As the vCenter version is 8.x, even if the ESXi is still 7.0, the customer should apply the vSAN8 license.

Resolution

Upgrade the existing vSAN7.X license to vSAN8.x in the Broadcom support portal.
