Error "Network [Network name] is in error state" when Importing VM in Cloud Director

Issue/Introduction

• When attempting to import a Virtual Machine (VM) from vCenter into the Cloud Director portal, the import task fails with the following error:

[########-####-####-####-############] Network [###########] is in error state

• The network reported itself displays a "Normal" status within Cloud Director, but other detailed network information is not visible.

 

• Attempts to delete the problematic network fails with the below error even when using system administrator credentials.

You do not have permissions to perform the operation 

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.x

Cause

This can be caused by removing components of the NSX Network in NSX UI before deleting the network in VMware Cloud Director (VCD).

Resolution

In order to resolve the issue a database modification is needed. Please Contact Broadcom Support
