Issue/Introduction

When viewing the audit trail from the Hierarchy in New UI, audit records for associated objects (e.g., Task) are not displayed, even though auditing is enabled for those objects and relevant changes have been made.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Login to Classi UI
  2. Navigate to Administration ->Studio -> Objects -> Filter for Hierarchy object -> Audit Trial tab
  3. Enable auditing for few attributes (eg. Description) on the Hierarchy object.
  4. Similarly enable auditing for few attributes on the Task object (eg. Task owner)
  5. Navigate to New UI -> Administration menu -> Blueprints -> Make a copy of Hierarchy Blueprint -> Edit and Configure Audit module on the blueprint -> Publish
  6. Navigate to the Hierarchy menu and create a new Hierarchy instance.
  7. Import few projects (having tasks) onto the Hierarchy
  8. Update the Task Owner field from the Task tab
  9. Update the Description field from the Hierarchy’s Properties grid view
  10. Navigate to Audit tab and filter for objects Task and Hierarchy

Expected Results:
Audit entries for both Task and Hierarchy objects should be visible in the Audit tab.

Actual Results:
Only audit records for the Hierarchy object are displayed. Changes to Task attributes are not shown.

Cause

Due to DE171872

Resolution

Engineerign have reviewed the DE171872 and confirmed that this should be considered as enhancement rather than a defect.

If you navigate to Classic > Studio > Objects > Hierarchy > Audit Trail tab, you can clearly see the Hierarchy attributes that Audit supports. Associated objects such as Tasks are not included in the Audit capability for the Hierarchy Object.
