Link down alarm in NSX on interfaces not used for datapath

Issue/Introduction

An NSX alarm was raised for a network interface that is down while not being used for datapath.

Environment

VMware NSX 4.1

Cause

NSX does not differentiate between the used and unused interface. Alarm is raised whenever NIC link status goes down without validating if the interface is being used by it or not.

Resolution

This issue is resolved in VMware NSX 4.2.2 and 9.0, available at Broadcom downloads.

In these versions, unused interface NIC link don't raise alarms when down.
