Host memory status alarms on ESXi hosts

Issue/Introduction

• Hardware side for the ESXi hosts reflects no issues 
• KB: How to clear warnings and errors in the Hardware Status tab did not resolve as there were no hardware health status issues/errors on the vSphere side
• Trying to clear the alarm has the alarm re-trigger after period of time 

Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi 

Cause

Reset rule empty or improperly configured on the alarm 

Resolution

1. In the vSphere Client, navigate to the vCenter object > Configure > Alarm Definitions 
2. Search for the alarm "Host memory status"
3. Once you find it, click on the alarm and hit the Edit button 
4. Confirm that the reset rule looks like the following: 

 

Alerts should clear automatically once this definition is properly set.
