Issue/Introduction

Trying to do a fresh install of NFA on new Windows hardware.

The installer generates a popup error that says the following:

'Installer User Interface Mode Not supported Unable to load and to prepare the installer in GUI mode.'

The installer EXE has been run as "Admin", re-installed.  They have also tried running in "Compatibility Mode" with various different Windows versions selected with no success.

Environment

NFA All versions

Cause

Special characters in the username used to log on to windows were preventing access to the TEMP directory during the install.

Resolution

There was an' 'exclamation point' in the username of the user used to log on to Windows during the install.

Special characters like "!" can cause problems with the path to the TEMP directory during installs.

So, either redirecting the Temp directory to another location (e.g. C:\TEMP) or logging in using a different Admin user (that doesn't include special characters) should fix this.
