Error - Installer User Interface Mode Not Supported

Issue/Introduction

You may get an error - "Installer User Interface Mode Not Supported" immediately after you launch the Spectrum installer.

 

Environment

Spectrum install on Windows

Cause

The installer cannot run in this UI mode.  To specify the interface mode, use the -i command-line option followed by the UI mode identifier.  The valid UI modes identifiers are GUI, Console, and Silent.

Resolution

This is a Microsoft Windows compatibility issue.  To resolve the problem, right click the Spectrum executable that you are using and select "Properties".  Navigate to the Compatibility Tab and select the "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" option and set it to another Windows version:

 

 

Click Apply and Ok and now you should be able to launch the Spectrum install without any issues.
