Issue/Introduction

  • When deploying VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle, VMware Identity Manager, and VMware Aria Automation using Easy Installer, deployment fails at the VMware Identity Manager initialization step.
  • The following error appears in the Request page of Aria Suite Lifecycle:

LCMVIDM71084
Error Code: LCMVIDM71084Unable to access the deployed vIDM. Please check whether all the provided network details are correct and retry.
Failed waiting for appliance to restart on the host. Exception message: Failed to do ssl handshake with server vIDMFQDNHostName:8443, within limited retires

Environment

VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle 8.x

VMware Aria Automation 8.x

VMware Identity Manager 3.3.7

Cause

This issue occurs due to selecting an incorrect SSL certificate during the Easy Installer deployment process. The incorrect SSL certificate prevents successful VMware Identity Manager initialization, causing an SSL handshake failure.

Resolution

  1. Ensure VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle has successfully deployed and is accessible.
  2. Log in to the VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle user interface:
    https://AriaSuiteFQDN
  3. Deploy VMware Identity Manager manually from within the Lifecycle Manager UI, ensuring that the correct SSL certificate is selected during the deployment wizard
  4. Upon successful completion of VMware Identity Manager deployment, proceed to deploy VMware Aria Automation.
