Error: "class java.lang.NullPointerException" displayed when clicking on IP Usage of an External Network

Issue/Introduction

• "class java.lang.NullPointerException" in IP Usage of External Network
• In the logs or Dev Tools you observe the following code being called:
  • com.vmware.vcloud.networking.dao.helper.AllocatedIpAddressDao.convertEdgeGatewayOrNetworkAssignedIp(AllocatedIpAddressDao.java:597)
• There was recent changes to Edges in the environment such as a V2T Migration.
• Edges were managed/removed outside of Cloud Director.

Environment

Cloud Director 10.5.1.1

Cause

• This issue occurs when the External Network attempts to lookup the attached Gateways.
• If certain Edges are missing entries in an associated table in the Database, the lookup cannot complete and a failure will occur.

Resolution

The workaround for this issue will require database maintenance

1. Contact Broadcom Support and reference this KB 395945.
2. Ensure to take a Backup of the Cloud Director database to upload to the case, as well as prior to any session with GS and/or Engineering.
