Issue/Introduction

 VMs on vCenter show the "Maximum size" for Hard disk as 2TB, however the Datastore capacity is at 18.96 TB.

The Host Client show the correct maximum size for Hard disk as 18.96 TB. 

 

Note: The screenshots are of 2 diffrent VMs which are facing the issue, hence there is a difference is size of Hard disk.

Environment

ESX 7.0.3 build 20328353

Resolution

Restart Management agents in ESXi Using ESXi Shell or Secure Shell (SSH):
  1. Log in to ESXi Shell or SSH as root.
  2. Run:
    /etc/init.d/hostd restart

    /etc/init.d/vpxa restart

     

To see the status of the services after restart:

/etc/init.d/hostd status

/etc/init.d/vpxa status
