Adding applications based on flows in Aria Operations for Networks results in error: "The current platform configuration cannot support application discovery. Please update system configuration."

Issue/Introduction

While attempting to add applications based on flows in Aria Operations for Networks, the following error as in below screenshot is seen:

Environment

Aria Operations for Networks 6.12.0
Aria Operations for Networks 6.12.1
Aria Operations for Networks 6.13.0
Aria Operations for Networks 6.14.0

Cause

Platform node deployed does not meet the minimum system requirements to use the Flow based Application feature.

Additional resources are required and reconfiguration is needed.

Resolution

Note:

DO NOT expand the existing disks presented to the VM, instead add a new disk.

1. SSH into the Platform Node using the support user.
2. Verify disk space allocation and it should be with 2 TB.
   
   
   Execute below commands:
   

   ub
   df -h

   
   
   
   
   
   
3. Confirm current brick size configuration.
   
   Execute below command:
   

   cat /home/ubuntu/build-target/deployment/brick-size.info

   

4. After adding all the required resources, you may see "capacity configuration is mismatched" so initiate a reconfiguration from the Aria Operations for Networks GUI via: Settings → Infrastructure and Support → Overview and Updates → Reconfigure

5. The reconfiguration process takes approximately 10 minutes. Once completed successfully, the flow-based application dashboard will become available.
   
   
   
   
6. Click Close button, as in above screenshot and navigate to Application Discovery section in the GUI to proceed further with Application Discovery.
   
   
7. Post reconfiguration, application discovery feature should now work as expected. 

Additional Information

1. After allocating the required resources (RAM, CPU, Disk space) to meet the XL brick size specifications as per the System Recommendations guide, verify the RAM and CPU in the vCenter and follow the steps below to verify the disk space and reconfigure the appliance.
