Issue/Introduction

A license key is required for Tanzu Platform for Cloud Foundry version 10.2 and higher. Read more to learn how to obtain your license key for the Tanzu Platform for Cloud Foundry tile.

Environment

The versions of Tanzu Platform for Cloud Foundry that require a license key are 10.2 and higher.

These versions of Tanzu Platform for Cloud Foundry require OpsManager 3.1.x or higher.

In order to access your Tanzu Platform for Cloud Foundry license key, you must be a User Admin or Product Admin following Article ID 269883.

Resolution

License keys are available from the support portal at support.broadcom.com under "My Entitlements" on the component SKU that entitles Cloud Foundry. Here are the component SKUs that entitle Cloud Foundry:

• PV-CFERS-3P-TLSS-C
• PV-CFERS-P-TLSS-C
• PV-TAS-CR-P-TLSS-C
• TNZ-CLD-FOUNDRY-SM
• TNZ-TP-CORE
• TNZ-UN-APP-SERV

For example, customers with the Tanzu Platform SKU, the license is available on the row with the component SKU listed above.

The "Contract Details" will show the component SKU name. 

Once the "Licenses" icon is selected, a new window will open to show the licenses.

Licensing Key Navigation

1. Select site ID to see its HOME folder and associated license keys (Hover over on the site ID to see the Address)
2. Expand the HOME folder to view sub folders and Click on ⋮ (3-dot icon) to rename folders and view permissions
3. Click on ⋮ (3-dot icon) next to contract end date to see the available self-service options. Note: These options are not relevant for Tanzu licenses
4. Use Search to filter results by product, key, serial, and contract number
5. Keys will have badges to indicate Beta, Trial/POC, New and Expired.
6. Copy text from the column, View parent folder name, View license history
7. Click All Licenses tab, Then, click on the Cloud download Icon to Export the License keys in CSV format.
8. Click on ellipsis ⋮ (3-dot icon) next to the cloud download icon to Move or Merge Licenses. Note: These options are not relevant for Tanzu licenses
9. Global Search:
   When a user has multiple license keys under different site IDs
   Enable Global Search to locate license keys within all sites for which you have appropriate Folder access rights.

 

This license key must be added as a configuration parameter for Tanzu Platform for Cloud Foundry when required by the tile.
