NSX security only cluster preparation fails with Error code: 609651 Incorrect Transport Zones for DVS

Issue/Introduction

• You have unprepared the NSX security only cluster and reinstalled vCenter server
• There is only one cluster in the vSphere environment and the DVS is not shared with multiple clusters
• You reinstalled the NSX manager nodes and restored from the backup 
• Preparing cluster as NSX security only fails with error similar to the below
  Incorrect Transport Zones [[]] for DVS 50 0e ## a3 c7 2f d4 18-cc ## eb ## 1c 24 ## f5 while configuring TNP for DFW on DVPG. (Error code: 609651)
• Default security only transport zone is present in the NSX environment

Environment

VMware NSX 4.1.x

Cause

The issue is caused due to a stale transport zone in the NSX database. 

Resolution

To resolve the issue, we have to clean up the stale transport zone from the NSX database and then prepare the cluster for NSX security only.

Please raise a support request to get assistance with the Corfu database cleanup.

Note: Make sure we have NSX manager backup available.
