Resetting NSX user passwords for an NSX Appliance

Issue/Introduction

• Attempts to log in to an NSX Appliance (Manager or Edge) using either the root or admin user fails due to their passwords being expired or being unknown.
• When trying to update the root user password via UI, it fails with

  Error: invalid old_password specified (Error code: 36147)

Refer to Resetting the Passwords of an Appliance to reset the password of the root or admin user of an NSX appliance.
