Issue/Introduction

  • NSX version 4.x
  • Switch IPFIX Profile called Global remains in Uninitialized state.
    Name is case insensitive: global, Global, GLOBAL behave identically.

Resolution

A Global Switch IPFIX Profile is created by naming the Switch IPFIX Profile "Global".

Creating a Global Switch IPFIX Profile via Manager API was deprecated in NSX 3.2.

Creating a Global Switch IPFIX Profile via Policy UI was introduced in NSX 3.2.

Both features are unsupported in NSX 4.0. The Global Switch IPFIX Profile will not realize.

 

Workaround:

  • Remove the unsupported Global Switch IPFIX Profile via API call: DELETE /policy/api/v1/infra/ipfix-l2-profiles/Global
  • Create a normal Switch IPFIX Profile and apply it to the desired segments.
