Global Switch IPFIX Profile is stuck Uninitialized

Issue/Introduction

Switch IPFIX Profile called Global remains in Uninitialized state.
Name is case insensitive: global, Global, GLOBAL behave identically.

Environment

VMware NSX 4.x

Cause

A Global Switch IPFIX Profile is created by naming the Switch IPFIX Profile "Global".

Creating a Global Switch IPFIX Profile via Manager API was deprecated in NSX 3.2.

Creating a Global Switch IPFIX Profile via Policy UI was introduced in NSX 3.2.

Both features are unsupported in NSX 4.x. The Global Switch IPFIX Profile will not realize.

Global Switch IPFIX Profiles are supported again in VCF 9.x.

Resolution

This feature is supported in VCF 9, available at Broadcom downloads.

If you are having difficulty finding and downloading software, please review the Download Broadcom products and software KB.

Workaround:

• Remove the unsupported Global Switch IPFIX Profile via API call: DELETE /policy/api/v1/infra/ipfix-l2-profiles/Global
• Create a normal Switch IPFIX Profile and apply it to the desired segments.
