Issue/Introduction

After registering the controller to cloud services and confirming cloud services shows as connected (Green), the controller fault below will appear.

Example:

Central licensing not subscribed Remote server error. ALBServices failed to process the request due to an internal error. {"error":"E018-010 : LicenseError :: E018-014 : LicenseError : Failed to refresh virtual license.","causedby":["License Service:E018-010 : LicenseError : Dormant organisation. Please check with support to re_activate it."],"traceInfo":{"traceId":"example","orgId":"example","assetId":"example","siteId":"example"}}

Environment

Affects Version(s): All versions of VMware Avi Load Balancer

Cause

This controller fault is an error message sent by the cloud services portal.  This error occurs when the user account used to register the controller does not have any Avi licenses imported to the cloud services portal account.

Resolution

The cloud services team will work on improving the language and error message for this licensing issue.

In the interim please follow the workaround below to resolve this issue.

1. Please follow cloud services guide to download your Avi licenses from the Broadcom portal and import them to the cloud services portal.

Uploading Licenses to Avi Cloud Console

2. Then follow the steps from the documentation below to first "deregister" and then "register" the controller to cloud services.

Registering Controller with Avi Cloud Console

If you are unable to find your Avi licenses in the Broadcom portal, please open a non-technical support request for assistance.

For versions below 22.1.3, a script is required to re-register the controller to cloud services.  You will find more details on the link below.
