Manual initiation of a file-based backup of the VCSA fails.

Environment

VMware vCenter Version 8.x

Resolution

  • Check if the backup server has enough space to store the backup.
  • Backup could have lost it's protocol after upgrading thus check that the protocol settings are still persistent.
    • Check with a different backup target with the same protocol and see if it works fine.
